Start with dialogue or song timing

If the video is dialogue-led, place the voice track first. If it is a nursery rhyme, place the final song first. Build picture timing around the audio rather than constantly stretching audio to fit random visuals.

Remove unnecessary pauses

Children's videos benefit from clarity and momentum, but that does not mean frantic cutting. Remove dead space while leaving enough time for a child to understand an action or word.

Keep voices intelligible

Lower background music under speech. If Malayalam pronunciation is important, listen on both headphones and a phone speaker. Words that sound clear in a studio mix can disappear on small speakers.

Use sound effects as punctuation

A door click, wing flap, comic pop or vehicle sound can help explain an action. Use effects selectively so important sounds remain meaningful.

Match cuts to movement

Cut when a character turns, jumps, points or reacts. Motion helps hide transitions and keeps visual rhythm smooth.

Add subtitles where useful

Subtitles can help parents, language learners and viewers watching without sound. Check Malayalam spelling carefully and keep text large enough for a phone screen.

Edit vertical Shorts differently

For 9:16 video, keep faces and key props near the visual centre. Leave space for platform interface overlays. A wide composition simply cropped into vertical can hide the joke.

Check music rights

Use music and sound you have permission to publish. Keep a record of licences or generation rights for important assets, especially if the channel may later monetise.

Do a final visual artefact pass

Pause on scene changes and inspect AI-generated details. Look for extra fingers, changing clothes, broken Malayalam text, disappearing props or odd background faces.

Export and watch the actual file

Before upload, watch the exported video from beginning to end on a phone. Check audio sync, subtitle timing, black frames, aspect ratio and whether the ending feels clean.

For the earlier production stages, read the script and storyboard guide and the AI production workflow.
